2 + 2 is... 10.
IN BASE 4!
Little maths joke there.
It's also correct.

Re: Whats 2 + 2?
Lets do a little algebra here X-)
Q:If 2 is a real number between 1-10 what are the possible outcomes of 2+2?
A: 2-20
Q: If 2=5.6, 3=4.2 and 1=3.5. What is 2{2(1-3)+(3x3)}-(2x2)
A: I will let someone else do the math cause I am feeling rather lazy at the moment.

2+2= number that not even the greatest and most powerful creatures of natures including chuck norris and the haylanders can figure out , in fact its a number that if it would ever discovered it would affect the way the gravity moves , the life is , the love and death works and how we relate a monkey to our dads (this one was by ranger 50)

Re: Whats 2 + 2?
5.6 * ( 5.6 * (3.5 - 4.2) + 4.2² ) - 5.6² = 31,36
Aaaanyway, ever had fun with bases? Okay, 2 + 2 is 10 in base 4.
Now, we will do some base 9 (Cirno reference! :D) maths. Basically,
7 + 2 = 10
7 + 1 = 8
All niners turn to tenners. That means you get a +1 every ninth step. But here's the catch...
Now, 7 + 3 = 11 <- mind the gap
One more example: 7 * 4 = 31 <- Gap repeats at every ninth step. so 9 fits into 31 3 times... Thus, it is: 7 * 4 = 28 + 3 = 31
25 + 36 = 62 (25 and 36 are WRITTEN in base9, so it's actually 23 + 32. 23 + 32 = 56 (9 fits 6 times in 56, so 56 + 6.)
19 - 10 = 8
Now your part: Math problems! :D
8 * 3 =
42 - 8 =
6 + 3 =
8 * 17 =
22 / 4 =
10 * ( 5.6 * (3.5 - 4.2) + 4.2² ) - 5.6² =
And that's how the nineball taught me maths. Go Cirno.

Re: Whats 2 + 2?
I get the base 9. But what does base 4 mean? +1 every 4th step? In that case wouldn't 2+2=2+2+1=5?
Oh duhhhhhhh. I see. Nvm. every 4th step= +6. fours turn into tens. duhhhhhhhhhhhh
2+4+7+9 = 2+4+7+9+(5x6)= 52?
normal, Bases 4 and 9.
8 * 3 = 24, 60, 26
42 - 8 = 34, 82, 37
6 + 3 = 9, 21, 10
8 * 17 = 136, 340, 141
22 / 4 = 5.5, 11.5, 5.5
10 * ( 5.6 * (3.5 - 4.2) + 4.2² ) - 5.6² = I am not going to do this one cause I don't want a headache and I don't feel like finding my calculator. In other words, I am being lazy.

Re: Whats 2 + 2?
Huh. I did Gloria's problem and got 45.472. Here's what I did.
5.6 [ 5.6 * ( 3.5 - 4.2 ) + ( 4.2 * 4.2 ) ] - 5.6 * 5.6
5.6 [ 5.6 * ( -0.7 ) + 17.64 ] - 31.36
5.6 ( -3.92 +17.64) - 31.36
5.6 * 13.72 - 31.36
76.832 - 31.36
45.472
I used order of operations though. (I'm 14 so I'm nub to math)
Oh and Sold here are my answers:
8 * 3 = 24 + 2 = 26
42 - 8 = 34 + 3 = 37
6 + 3 = 9 + 1 = 10
8 * 17 = 136 + 15 = 151
22 / 4 = 5.5
10 * ( 5.6 * (3.5 - 4.2) + 4.2² ) - 5.6² = 105.84 + 11 = 116.84
That's all I got. Fix my problems pleeeeeease. I like math.
@Sayor Use order of operationssss.
5.6 [ 5.6 * ( 3.5 - 4.2 ) + ( 4.2 * 4.2 ) ] - 5.6 * 5.6
5.6 [ 5.6 * ( -0.7 ) + 17.64 ] - 31.36
5.6 ( -3.92 +17.64) - 31.36
5.6 * 13.72 - 31.36
76.832 - 31.36
45.472

Re: Whats 2 + 2?
You either stole from Gloria, or my explanation didn't point something out well enough. :3
Okay, the base 9 answers along with explanations. 8D
8 * 3 = 26 (24 + 2, obviously.)
42 - 8 = 33 (42 is written in base 9. Thus, it would be a 38 in decimal, because 42 / 9 = 4. So we have 42 - 4 - 8 = 30. 30 / 9 = 3, so 30 + 3 = 33.
6 + 3 = 10
8 * 17 = 142 (9 fits once into 17, thus: 8 * 16 = 128. 128 / 9 = 14. 128 + 14 = 142.
22 / 4 = 5 (22 is written in base 9, thus it would be a twenty in decimal. 20 / 4 = 5.
All the other numbers are fine. :P)
10 * ( 5.6 * (3.5 - 4.2) + 4.2² ) - 5.6² = 34,40 (ten is actually a nine, so you get 31,36. Now we had to give the 31 + 3 and the ,36 + 4 Yes, the numbers after the comma need to be changed, too..
And this is what our maths would look like if we had 9 fingers. =w=
Some more for those who want to redeem themselves now. :P
10 - 8
17 * 6 =

Count from 1 to 30 in B9.
2 * 1 * 20.000.000 =
16 + 4 =
16 + 4 in base 4 =

I'll get started on the base 4s now... =w=
I'll post them when I have the time to finish em. ^^

Re: Whats 2 + 2?
Ohh ok so you have to do the base 9 thing to all the numbers before you start the problem, unless they're lower than nine obviously... I thought you had to do that to the answer all right. I think I might be able to do your new problems, although. how would I count? I'll just guess and see if it's right lol. I'm guessing for base 4 also lolol.
10 - 8 = 1
17 * 6 = 96
23 / 5 = 4.2
Count from 1 to 30 in B9. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30 (total guess)
2 * 1 * 20.000.000 = 35555556
16 + 4 = 19
16 + 4 in base 4 = 16 / 4 = 4 10 - 4 = 6 4 * 6 = 24 16 24 = 40 4 = 6 40 6 = 46?
Count from 1 to 30 in B4. 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 18, 19, 26, 27, 32Nevermind on B4 counting... :x
Yeah I know I probably got most of them wrong. Lol I'm in the 8th grade so, don't know any of this shiz.
And Fiana that's the kind of stuff I'm learning in class but were only learning to simplify and put in the correct order. x² + 4x + 13 is in standard form already in it self. Don't know how you could solve that... someone do it and show me. Didn't know you could SOLVE polynomials

Re: Whats 2 + 2?
lol Castle its definately not our intentions.
For my equation it goes like this:
D=b^2-4*ac => 4^2-4*13=-36
Now what follows a real polynomia is that if the discriminant is less than 0 it has no real roots, but we'll solve it anyways:
For root one: r1=(-4+sqrt(-36))/2
doing squareroot of a negative number is not possible so we split like this:
sqrt(-36)=sqrt(36)*sqrt(-1) For the complex digit 'i' follows that i^2=-1 So sqrt(-1)=i
We get following:
r1=(-4+sqrt(36)*sqrt(-1))/2=-2+3*i the first complex root
r2=(-4-sqrt(36)*sqrt(-1))/2=-2-3*i Which is the second complex root
LOL
