    Scrapped story for RPG

Post by Gloria of Greenguard on Wed Jun 01, 2011 5:15 am

    Gloria.

She was raised in a beautiful loving home (or not). The house was a two room shack with a sheltered hole in the ground outside for a toilet . And her parents were.........well....read on to find out.

Her mother did a lot gardening to keep the family fed and kept her house as clean as she could. But she had a horrible temper and was a child abuser. Gloria and her younger brother both showed signs of their mothers fits of anger all over their bodies.

Her father was a coal miner who worked hard all day in cramped shafts and caves. But when his job was done he always drank heavily. And when he came home he often beat his wife, and molested his own daughter at times.

Her older brother had run from home long before, but his life was already ruined by the time he did so. She never really got to know him. The last thing Gloria heard of him. Was a letter from some constable somewhere who had had her brother hung for murder and robbery.

Gloria did her best to take care of her younger brother, and often would take beatings from their mom in his place. She also studied hard on whatever books were in the house, in order to learn things she could teach to her brother.

One day, she was out all day at the nearest lake attempting to catch some fish. So that her family could have something with their normal vegetables for dinner. She had no luck. The fish would not bite no matter what she did or how hard she tried.

Her mother was furious when Gloria returned that evening without any fish to eat. She vented her anger by beating her daughter harder than usual, and only stopped to tell her son to set the table, and then she continued the beating. Gloria was on the ground and barely conscious when suddenly her brother dropped a pile of dishes he had been carrying.

Gloria winced at the thought of what was about to happen to her beloved little brother. But she couldn't do a thing. There was no way she could stand up yet. And she watched in horror as her mother started by knocking the boy down with her fist and then repeatedly kick him.

Later on that evening her father came home, as usual he had stopped at a local bar on the way home and gotten drunk. When he got home he raped his own daughter as he sometimes did, she was only a little beaten up so why not? As usual her little brother could do nothing but roll up tightly in a corner and sob. And their mother just sat in the other room and read a book.

After her father left the room. She lay naked on the bed brooding over what had happened that day. A few hours later that night her brother had cried himself to sleep and Gloria had put some clean clothes on. Not her normal night time shirt and underwear. But a full traveling outfit.

She hated to do this to her little brother, but she walked over to him and gently shook his shoulder. He woke up in a startled manner and looked at her with questioning eyes. She told him.......get some warm clothes on and wait for me outside, I should be out within fifteen minutes. He went ahead and did as he was told.

When he had slipped out of the bedroom window and disappeared into the night time air. She went to the dresser, one of the few furniture items in the room, and stuck her hand behind it and pulled out a large knife. It was a french chef styled knife, and had been one of her mothers favorites till it had gotten lost a few months previously. Gloria took it in her right hand and walked silently towards the door that connected her and her brothers room to their parents room.

She slowly opened the door as silently as she could. Her Dad was sleeping on the bed and her mother, on the floor. They could not afford a second bed, and her Dad was too selfish to share.
Gloria knelled by her mothers side, and put the knife to hers mothers throat.

Her mother woke up, but it was too late. She could not breath because of all the blood blocking her air way, and she choked to death. Her death was not a quiet one (choking people usually aren't all that quiet you know) but her husband slept through it all, not hearing a thing because of his drunken slumber.

After her mother had finally stopped struggling. Gloria tip toed over to the bed, it was her fathers turn. The drunk bum of a man hadn't even gotten dressed after raping his daughter. And had just gone strait to bed without dressing (unfortunately for him). At first Gloria had intended to kill him just as she had done to her mother. But on seeing him this way, she thought......death would be to good for him.

She got on the bed and lifted a leg over him, and then sat on his lower stomach in a straddling manner. He still did not wake up. She wanted him to be awake for what she was going to do next, so she leaned forward and started shaking his shoulder violently with her left hand.

He finally woke up, and when he did she straitened back up. He opened his eyes groggily and was rather confused. Why the heck was his daughter straddling him like this?. He knew she did not enjoy what he sometimes did to her. He then noticed something metallic in her left hand, it just barely glinted for a moment as a little moon light caught it.

Gloria walked out of the house and into the moon light. Behind her she could here the screaming of her father. He would live. But he would never make love to a woman again. On her way out she grabbed a bag of stuff she had prepared. And went to find her brother.

After five minutes of searching she started to get worried. She could not find her brother any where. Her father had finished his screaming. At some point he had gone running out of the house and towards town.....probably to find a doctor.

No matter where she looked she could not find her brother. After searching for nearly an hour. She found the place where he had been standing. She also noticed that there were marks on the ground all over, like there had been a struggle. She nearly panicked. But she quickly regained her composure and looked for tracks leading from the spot.

She found a couple sets of tracks going into the woods. She tried to follow them but quickly lost them. She was not an experienced tracker. She searched the woods in the area the rest of the night. And spent the next several days exploring more and more area. She never did find her brother.

With a sad and broken heart. She finally proceeded to do what she had planned to do that night.

She never returned to the area where she had previously lived. People in the town had gone searching for Gloria, after hearing what her father had said (he hid the fact about what he and his wife did to their children).
They found where she had gone into the woods. And tracked her movements for a long time. But they finally lost her tracks over a wide rocky area and decided she had gotten lost in the woods.

As far as any official documents were concerned, she was dead.

Though a kind person at heart. Living in the house she had lived in, she never fully developed a sense of right and wrong. She never regretted what she had done to her parents.
She wandered around doing odd jobs for various people and using any money earned, on basic life necessities.

It was not a world for a lone girl to wander in. There were many people out there who had no problem with taking advantage of others. Her parents hadn't been the only horrible people out there. More than once her body was violated by perverts with no morals. At times like these she didn't do much to defend herself. In her mind, what happened happened, she would take all the crap life threw at her, she didn't care any more.

In order for her fragile mind to defend itself, she had lost almost all sense of emotion. Things such as death, pain and suffering no longer had any effect on her emotions. If it were possible for life to be a living hell.......hers would have been close.

One rainy day during her travels she found a small tavern that was in need of a hostess. She offered to fill the roll for a day. The people there were nice, though they could tell that she had a rough life, they asked no questions. She was a hard worker, and attractive. Though she had lost all emotion, she still had the power to act happy and outgoing when need be. The tavern did good business that day.

The owner of the tavern was pleased by her her performance and decided that he would like to keep her as hostess if possible. He took her aside that night and had a long talk with her. He promised her that she could work there as she wanted and have free room and board. And no one would ask her any questions about her past.

It was upon these terms that she came to work at the small tavern wear she would eventually meet her current traveling companions.

She still wonders at times. What happened to her brother? She will never know.
