Does anybody know how to edit .sav files?

I've been messing around with a fair share of iPhone games, and a lot of them contain .sav files which I presume are the progress save files for that game. Wondering how to edit these, I have a hexadecimal editor (Hex Fiend for Mac) but I have no idea what those lines of hexadecimals represent. I've tried that trial and error thing where you have a certain line of code remembered and make changes in the game then see if that code would change at all, but so far all I've gotten is a headache.

So if any of you's are super geniuses in the coding field, help me out D:<

You really just gotta stick to trial and error there; usually, savegame files are different for every game.

Plus, cheaters have small dicks. ^^

Nah lol I just thought I'd try and see what game developers would do to create gamefiles and st00f. Plus, I don't cheat on a game where you can't get multiplayer :D Jk, if I do cheat it will be for the sake of editing game files, not just for the pleasure of telling myself I beat a game where only I can proof it to myself. :P

Well if trial and error's the only way then I guess I'll just leave it for now.

In my opinion, you get more glory from saying "I hacked into the game" than "I beat the game" as beating the game just means you're a fanatic where hacking into it proves you're so, so much more.

Well that's only for huge games with tons of people playing multiplayer with epic anti-defense systems. Otherwise if it's a game like NOVA on the iPhone (trust me, my 6-year old brother could hack it) then it's kinda pointless.

And plus, most of the mega-corp games like the Gameloft/Ubisoft ones are like impossible to hack without being a supergeek and most of those guys don't bother hacking into games.

Anti-defense systems... sweet. Custom systems just to make sure it ISN'T secure, now that's nice.

And if you want to hack an online game, you would have to trick server packages and so on, and especially during MMOs you will get trouble for it. And really, the only games where people actually try are the ones like WoW, which is played by people without lives or jobs anyway. Tssk.

Oops, LOL I meant anti-hack defense systems...

But yeah other than that I have no expertise in the field of game hacking.. So...

I can convert hexadecimals to a more familiar decimal # sys. if that's helpful. ^^ Guess learning binary and all those other # systems do come in handy these days. Anyways, try and send me the hexadecimals in a notepad format @-> ssayor@gmail.com. I may be able to do something about em.

And although I appreciate your offer it's okay - I've moved on to other things. Editing game files was just one of those week-long things you pick up and then drop after a while. ^^
